A steel barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet, c 1820, 14½” overall, slightly swamped barrel 9½” with Birmingham proofs and marked “London”, the 8” spring bayonet released by catch on the breech tang; flat foliate engraved lock with safety bolt, rainproof pan and roller on frizzen spring, signed “Smith”; plain walnut fullstock with foliate engraved brass trigger guard with pineapple finial, and with original brass tipped ebony ramrod with worm. Good Working Order and Condition, dark patina to lock and barrel. Plate 10
