A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 21852, 1918, from a Robinson Great Central type 2-8-0 built in May 1918 to Ministry of Munitions order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers, ROD No 1875. Loaned new to the GCR, it was stored at Morecambe from 1921 until sold to the LNER, becoming their O4 Class No 6588 and entering traffic in July 1927 at Langwith Junction. It was renumbered 3779 in 1946 and became BR 63779. It spent its BR days at Cambridge, Mexborough and Retford from where it was withdrawn in April 1962 and cut up at Gorton Works. Cast brass, 7¾" diameter, the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
