A fine carved and giltwood and embroidered fire screen in Louis XIV style, 19th century,: the embroidery depicting the Trusty Servant, entitled A PIECE OF ANTIQUITY and with the explanatory verse below, beneath glass; the openwork scrolling foliate cresting flanked by lobed finials, on fluted columnar supports with knopped, waisted and beaded intersections; above a conforming openwork underside; a cushioned stretcher uniting two pairs of scrolled legs carved with recessed imbricated laurel panels; on scrolling acanthus feet; 106cm high, 65cm wide, 50cm deep
