Book, Yorkshire County Cricket Club Handbook 1949 DDEP bears 12 autographs of Yorkshire players including Len Hutton, Brian Close, Willie Watson, Don Brennan, J.V. Wilson and Gerald Smithson, (The last named is famous for having been the only first-class cricketer to be the subject of a debate in the House of Commons.) He had been conscripted as a Bevin Boy and was still working down the pit when he was selected to tour West Indies Tour with MCC 1947-8. He played the first 2 tests but then seriously injured and took no further part in the tour, his picture appears at page 38 of Wisden 1948.
