Signed twice and dated '91' lower left -
This painting appears to depict a gully on the opposite side of the Kingsbridge Estuary. The two thatched cottages seen in the foreground occupied the site until they were lost to fire in the 1920s. Subsequently, the Gullet Estate was built in their place, in the Arts & Crafts style. The cottages are referred to in 'The Cottages of England', published in 1929, as one of the picturesque spots in the area
