LOT OF CORK INTEREST: A HAND BLOWN ‘CORK EXHIBITION 1902’ GLASS, etched to front reading ‘Cork Exhibition 1902’. Dimensions: 9.7cm high approx. More about the Cork Exhibition: In 1902 the Lord Mayor of Cork, Edward Fitzgerald, presided over creating the Cork International Exhibition, which ran from May - October. Land beside the river at Mardyke was used for the site & several hundred exhibits were on display for the six months. The main categories of exhibits included Women’s Section, Raw Materials Section, Geological Specimens, Natural History Section, Modern Science Section, Archaeological and Historical Section, Raw Materials, Industrially Treated Forestry, Educational Section, and Nature Study Section.
