1899 Pattern cavalry trooper's sword and scabbard by Enfield, ricasso marked arrow/EFD and inspection marks, other side '01, back of blade dated '99 with inspection marks, fold down on inside of guard marked K.E.H. 246 (King Edward's Horse), scabbard and guard painted brown long ago, generally very fine. With old luggage label attached which says:
"Cavalry sabre given to me by Sgt Davis Canadian Light Horse. Wounded while on working party in front of Hebuterne. Found by me in "no man's land" with shell wound of rt shoulder, vessels twisted, no bleeding, only deltoid holding arm to shoulder. Arm removed below deltoid & flap approximated to raw surface of shoulder joint. 1st Field Dressing & then evacuated by bearers to A.D.S. "BUYER MUST COLLECT. (See photo)
