An unusual early 18th-century Vernacular oak child chair, probably Lancashire, with moulded arched back open bar splats and turned supports above a close nailed hide seat, supported by a turned underframe with high set rance/stretcher. 46 cm wide x 36 cm deep x 89 cm overall height, 38 cm height to the seat, together with a small (child's?) six-plank coffer with gouge cut and primitive incised decoration, the top secured with staple hinges and hasp and staple lock, supported by shaped end supports. 60 cm wide 32 cm deep x 44 cm overall height.
