INDIAN MUTINY & ROYAL INTEREST. FAYRER SURGEON GENERAL SIR JOSEPH.  Recollections of My Life. Frontis. & illus. Blue calf, wear & rubbing. Pres. copy from the author to his son & further by family descent. 1900. With a detailed note from the author`s son, Lt. Col. F.D.S. Fayrer made at the Lucknow Residency, 1921, describing how he shared this book with the visiting Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII). Fayrer senior was present at, and played a leading role in, the defence of Lucknow during the 1857 rebellion. With a few items of images & ephemera relating to the Prince`s visit to India and a Welsh Guards reunion dinner menu signed by the Prince "Edward" in pencil to the outer cover.  Also a single sepia photograph (10cm x 14cm), depicting the previous Edward Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and his entourage with a dead tiger, inscr. to reverse "The Prince`s Final Tiger".
