An Antique Victorian ruby and diamond marquise cluster ring, circa 1890, set with cushion and round-cut rubies surrounded by rub-over set old-cut diamonds with single-cut diamond accents, total ruby content approx 1.1ct, total diamond content approx 1.5ct, unmarked mount tests as silver-topped 18ct gold, setting height 22.8mm, size O, 4.9g
No damage, all stones present, rubies are a vivid pinkish red with several internal crystal and feather inclusions visible through a loupe and several minor girdle chips, rubies are well matched, diamonds very bright and lively, 1 principal diamond has a slight yellow tint, general wear to high points of mount particularly around bridge and on back of shank which has a small well concealed join mark, unmarked
