A PAIR OF MID 20TH CENTURY IRISH ARMY 'ÓGLAIGH NA h-ÉIREANN' OFFICERS MESS CHAIRS, each chair with a padded back and seat, raised on turned legs to the front and 'H' stretcher uniting the legs. To the crest rail is the army emblem; which has the letters FF surrounded by the flames. FF stands for Fianna Fáil; which is derived from the ancient name for Ireland Inishfáil (Isle of Destiny) and Fianna which was the name of an ancient military organisation in Ireland. Dimensions: 103cm high and 45cm wide.
