A RARE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN KOHL VESSEL, NEW KINGDOM PERIOD, 1550/1070 B.C.

This ancient Egyptian kohl vessel set, dating to the New Kingdom (c. 1550/1070 BCE), includes a wooden container for storing kohl, a black cosmetic used for eye adornment and protection, along with a carved applicator and a linen-wrapped pouch. Kohl, made from crushed minerals like galena, was used for both aesthetic and spiritual purposes, believed to protect the eyes from the sun and invoke divine protection.
