These plates are from Curtis's Botanical Magazine drawn by William J Hooker and engraved by Joseph Swan. Published by S Curtis Walworth 1830.
The plates are known for their fine detail and delicate hand colouring.
The prints are all copperplate engravings, printed in colour finished by hand and this lot comprises:
1. No. 2960 - Doubtful Desmodium
2. No. 3010 - Coloured-spiked Phrynium
3. No. 3026 - Stone Saxifrage
4. No. 3035 - Orange-flowered Poppy
All in archival mounts.
