A detached lock from a Tower New Land Pattern flintlock musket, plate 6¾" marked with crown over "GR" and "Tower". QGC (has been corroded and partly cleaned, no mainspring, scear spring detached but present). In 1841 a serious fire at the Tower of London destroyed most of the existing stock of New Land Pattern muskets. Given its condition this is possibly a relic from the fire. £50-60
