Oil on Board Painting ;The Rehearsal' by Pompio Massani
Dimensions 30x38cm
" Vividness is the most striking feature of this portrait, from action to demeanor, every detail contains the subtle rhythm of the painting. In the composition of the picture, the colour blocks of the background and the overall shape of the characters form a light and dark contrast, the composition of the characters is stable and harmonious, the brows of the characters in the picture are slightly wrinkled, and the mouth and cheeks show the action of playing the flute, which is very lively. The depiction of objects(books and furniture)in the picture also reflects the certain social background and class of the characters in the painting, which adds to the vividness and storytelling of the picture, and shortens the sense of distance for viewing.
