Gubulawayo/Rhodesia. 1891 Covers to Kimberley (2) or Johannesburg, the two long covers to Kimberley franked British Bechuanaland 1888 6d pair or British Bechuanaland 1888 2d + Protectorate overprint 4d on ½d, both cancelled "678" with "GUBULAWAYO" c.d.s alongside, the third cover with British Bechuanaland 6d tied by the Gubulawayo c.d.s, all with Mafeking and arrival backstamps. All three covers with vertical folds, the third cover to Transvaal with large opening tears, nevertheless very scarce covers from the Trans-Protectorate, located within Mashonaland with the postal service operated by Bechuanaland from August 1888 until the B.S.A.P Co. took over the mail service in May 1894.
