ALFA-ROMEO P2 TINLATE TOY MODEL BY C.I.J.

From the estate of Mr. Chris Smith of Westfield Sports Cars and Chevron Cars Limited.

Inspired by the successful 1924 Alfa-Romeo racing car of Vittorio Jano, these period tinplate toy models from French maker Compagnie Industrielle du Jouet are now highly prized by collectors.

Each come with spoked wheels and rubber tyres, drum brakes, shock absorbers, and wear race number 2 with a green clover motif on the wire mesh grille - other features include starting handles, filler and radiator caps.

This Type 2 version of c. 1929 is fitted with treaded 'Michelin' tyres, and supplied with its original key for the clockwork mechanism, and is approximately 52cm long. The model was acquired by our vendor's family over 20 years ago and has been the pride of a model collection since then.
