A Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain vase, hand painted mountain landscapes, height 47cm, rim diameter 23cm

More Information

There is a faint star crack under the base and a brown blemish in the glaze just above the foot, no other chips cracks or restoration.
There is a circular area of pitted glaze which seems to be a glaze flaw. This is on the side just above the base. It has stained light brown, and there is an area surrounding it that has also slightly discoloured. It does not appear to be a filled hole, as the inside of the vase is smooth and glazed. It is possibly just a slight pitting to the glaze which has allowed the porcelain underneath to become discoloured, or possibly a surface glaze chip which has been re-glazed. There are several other flaws elsewhere on the vase where the porcelain is slightly discoloured underneath, which implies that the larger area is probably a glaze flaw in manufacture
