An 18th century unmarked continental silver erotic snuff box, circa 1740, with concealed lever mechanism. Tested as 800+ grade silver with XRF analyser by Juels Ltd, Norwich. The inside of the lid has ivory painted scene of a young couple amorously engaged, with a side push/pull lever that automates the scene. Approx. 6.75cm long and weighs 51.86g. Comes with a copy of the certificate of authenticity from A.D.C Heritage - Fine Antique Silver & Objects D'Art, dated 15th May 1981. Ivory exemption number 7T8HV7DA.
