I: Second edition of this dictionary of terms used in civil and canon law and one of the most important works on casuistry in the middle ages. It concerns the sins and punishments of the church as well as the rights and duties of marriage. At the end is a papal bull of Sixtus IV, dated 30 December 1479, which concerns the abuse of pardons made through absolution without official papal consent. First published in 1484 with at least six editions printed before 1500.
Il: Second edition of this interesting text, but the first to contain the commentary of Jodocus Clichtovaeus. The work includes a description of the heavenly bodies, their motions and other natural phenomena, as well as a table of the zodiac for the year 1507. There is also a section on geography which is followed by a description of Paradise, then others of man, his passions and faculties. This is one of Henri Estienne's most beautiful productions with a wide variety of ornamental initials of various sizes.
