A 14 carat gold pocket watch c1830 by John Cross of Charterhouse Square, hallmarks illegible due to wear but tests as 14 carat. Total weight including fob 60g. The crystal good, with the bezel set with seed pearls: matching seed pearls to reverse of case with centre enamelled in blue over an engine turned finish - enamelling is a/f to lower edge. Key wind and set, supplied with keys, the keys attached to a fob containing a lock of hair, possibly as a momento mori. The whole presented in a leather bound case believed original, with blue velvet fitted interior.
