A LATE VICTORIAN TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER BY A. JOHANNSEN & CO., LONDON, CIRCA 1890-95, the 4in. silvered dial signed and numbered 4413 with matching numbered key and government stores label, and inscribed with the Government Broad arrow mark, blued spade hands, chain fusée movement with balance, silvered helical spring and detent, Earnshaw escapement, spotted backplates, fouf pilar movement secured with blued screws, broad arrow to backplate, contained within gimbal-mounted brass bowl in a three-tier brass-bound mahogany wooden box of issue with locking arm, tipsy key, flush brass handles, ivorene numbered maker's plaque, matching, approximately 7 ½in. (19cm.) cubed, together with copies of ships’ service logs from 1895 to 1936. (In good running order, glass panel of inner box cover lacking)
