Italy, Sicily, AE Hemi-Litron, 31mm, 23.00g, of Akragas (Agrigentum), modern-day Agrigento, circa 405-392BCE, countermark head of young Herakles right, wearing lion's skin, all within incuse circle (re-struck on type of the previous issue, c.425-406, eagle // crab), S-1026, Fine+. These countermarked issues were produced in the troubled period following the destruction of Akragas by the Carthaginians.
