A selection of Coalport cobalt blue batwing decorated tea and coffee wares, comprising: five teacups, seven coffee cups, six espresso cups, seventeen large saucers, six small saucers, four side plates, twelve dessert plates, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, an oval twin handled serving dish, 32cm wide, two square twin handled serving plates, 25cm wide and 29cm wide, and a circular twin handled serving plate, 29cm wide, each piece with printed mark to base (Qty) (at fault)
All pieces show surface wear and rubbing to the gilt highlights (extensive in places). There is some variation in the colour of the cobalt ground between pieces. One espresso cup is lacking a handle, one shows a full length descending hairline crack, another shows short hairline cracks to the rim, and one shows extensive crazing. One coffee cup shoes extensive repairs, another shows a 2cm long hairline crack descending from the rim, and one shows short hairline cracks to the rim. One teacup shows a full length descending hairline crack, and another shows two parallel descending cracks. One small saucer shows stained crazing and one shows a hairline crack. Three large saucers show extensive crazing and one shows stained crazing. The milk jug shows extensive crazing. The oval serving dish shows no obvious faults but sounds off when pinged. The circular serving plate shows extensive stained crazing and repairs.
