A large and heavy 19th century Oriental (probably Japanese) ovoid ceramic vase: interestingly decorated with five blue, white and brown Buddhistic lions incised in low relief within stylised clouds, flames and a 'flaming pearl' modelled as a white flowerhead, all against a dark cobalt-blue ground, raised on generous circular foot. (29 cm high x approx. 24.5 cm wide)
