A Victorian “Sentry Box” silver and enamel vesta case, Samson Mordan & Co. London, 1886, the front enamelled with a depiction of a soldier of ‘The Seaforth Highlanders’ standing to attention, the top triangular section lifting with side hinge for access to vestas, stamped with Rd. No. 38238, base with striking plate, 2 3/8in. (6cm.) high, gross weight 0.83 tr.oz. * Condition: Light surface wear, strong hinge, very good.
