Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899-1902, with two clasps: Cape Colony, Wittebergen. Named to : 2094 Cpl J Morrison Scottish Rifles. Cpl Morrison served with the 4th Battalion Scottish Rifles (The Cameronians) and was also entitled to the South Africa 1901 clasp. These date clasps were issued
separately from the medals and frequently misplaced, as is the case here. The 4th battalion, formerly part of the Royal Lanark Militia, was embodied in December 1899 for service in South Africa. Around 600 officers and men embarked
for the conflict in late February 1900 and returned to the UK in 1901, thereby not qualifying for the KSA.
Second type reverse – wreath pointing to ‘F’. With copy extracts from medal rolls confirming entitlement to clasps.
Good very Fine (GVF) condition.
