14x10"Oil on board signed bottom right unframed (Automne nue conchee written on reverse ( Reclining nude by James Lawrence Isherwood (1917 – 1989). Born in 1917 into a working class family in Wigan, James Lawrence Isherwood’s family were cobblers. He worked in the shop until released by his father’s death in the 1950s. Prince Charles now King Charles 111 is among important collectors of Isherwoods work he aquired works in the 60s when studying at Cambridge . L S Lowry also bought one of Isherwoods works call Minnie with cat and it was hung at the side of Lowrys own easel in his studio until his death, this can be seen on many Lowry studio photgraphs
