WATERCOLOURS/SKETCHES/PRINTS: A fascinating collection. Chiefly of interest for the sketchbook with watercolour costume designs, or records of designs, for Russian dramatic productions for Moscow theatre productions of the early 1930s (mostly 1934). Meyerhold, Bolshoi, Mariensky theatres. Most watercolours are dated. Mostly from the classical/19th century repertoire. One assumes anything more radical was, by then, not approved? Some of the etchings are signed possibly by Edward Bird (20th C.), but the artist of the theatrical pictures, we have been unable to ascertain.
