Scotland, 1671 Charles II silver Half Merk, straight ribbon (S 5614). Obverse: laureate cuirassed bust facing right with straight ribbon behind the head and a thistle with leaves below, 'CAROLVS · II · DEI · GRA ·' around. Reverse: cruciforms hields of royal arms with crowned interlinked 'C's in the angles and a mark of value at the centre. The date appears in the legend, which reads 'MAG BRI · FRA ET · HIB REX · 1671'. Weight: 3.16g. Diameter: 21mm. Grade: nF - minor snip of the flan at the top of the obverse, dark tone with some scuffs and scrapes seen under magnification, around Fine, perhaps better in places. Comes with an old list clipping.
