The City of Glasgow (1168 tons) built by Barclay Curle & Co. was launched in 1867 and was the first ship of George Smith's City Line which would later become the famous Ellerman City Line. Sold in 1900 to Johanson & Co, Oslo, and renamed Albania, she was in passage between Koru, New Caledonia to Stettin with a cargo of nickel ore, when she was abandoned East of Tonga.
