Of Brooklands interest; a schoolboys project, c.1977, whereby he contacted Brooklands racers and mechanics for signed photographs and stories. Including Leopoldo Villa, a handwritten 5 page letter describing his early days with Giulio Forsti, who drove a 1908 9 litre chain driven Mercedes, in 1922 he joined Malcolm Campbell, he describes how at the Brooklands Whitsun meeting on 09 June 1924, Capt. Jack Toop in a 4.5-litre 1913 Grand Prix Type Peugeot L45 went over the bank and lost his life, Campbell stopped his car and ran to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.

Signed photographs of Raymond Mays, Sopwith, Whitney Straight in a 1933 Maserati, Dudley Froy, one of just 12 people to exceed 130 MPH at Brooklands, C.W.G. Lacey with the Grindley Peerless 100MPH machine, and Harry Clyton.
