Maurice Lambert designed a series of relief groups for the R.M.S. Queen Mary which was launched in 1934. The present example was installed in the travel bureau onboard the main deck. Originally one of a pair, both symbolised 'Speed and Progress'. The port side panel, which depicted the express train Silver Jubilee behind a galloping centaur, is now lost to time. This unique panel depicts a stylised DH86 Imperial Airways aircraft with Pegasus alongside. Literature D. M.
