H.M. Queen Elizabeth II ('Lilibet'), a handwritten letter in black ink, dated Feb 15th 1973, on Buckingham Palace headed paper, addressed 'Dear Gerald and Angela' in thanks for their Silver Wedding gift, signed 'With love from Lilibet', along with a letter from Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester (1901-2004) to Gerald Lascelles, discussing the purchase of a Silver Wedding gift for 'Lillibet & Philip', handwritten on Kensington Palace headed paper, the second paragraph reads 'Very strange to say Lillibet has asked for some "simple silver cruets" - Pepper - Salt - & Mustard - as apparently these things only exist on a vast scale, & she would like them for their own private dinner table at Balmoral & Sandringham. If you agree, would you be prepared to contribute £10'. (2).
