1914 Star trio with date bar and MID oakleaf, WW2 Defence Medal and BWM to Capt W.G. Groombridge (3782 Cpl W.G. Groombridge 19/Hrs on Star, WW2 un-named as issued) nearly very fine and better. With copied MIC and typed research, William George Groombridge was born 1890, served 7 years in ranks, commissioned in Royal Inniskilling Fus 19/3/16, T/Lt 8th Bn 30/10/16, A/Capt 11/4/17, WW1 wounded twice, MID LG 4/1/17, Staff Capt Irish Comd 22/11/21, served with Iraq Levies 1924, Capt 6/5/32, 1945 Army List shows Armaments Inspector Dept Birmingham area, clasp not confirmed to star. With copied casualty list extract from Londonderry Sentinel dated 6 July 1916 on which he is listed, so probably a 1st of July casualty. (R)
