Attributed to David Teniers (1610-1690) - 'Landscape with two travellers and a dog in the foreground and a chateau beyond', oil on wooden panel, name plaque applied to front, with typed note verso as follows; "Landscape by David Teniers, Flemish School 1610-1696. (Collection of Count de Renesse, Brussels). This famous Master was born at Anvers and his works can be found in every Museum throughout the world. The National Gallery having a very fine selection. This small panel is a very rare work, being a landscape and executed in the finest quality of the Master. Two peasants are walking the chateau, whilst the rays of the sun can be seen emerging from the threatening clouds, and faintly in the distance can be seen the outlines of some gallows. The companion picture, one of a pair, is hung in the Berlin Museum. This small panel has been described as a 'gem' of the Masters highest technique". 12cm x 17cm, framed.
Provenance: From the private collection of a family.
Condition report: Surface cracks and dirt with age.
