A 19th Century French 1866 pattern ' Chassepot ' rifle bayonet. The bayonet having ribbed brass hilt, muzzle ring and forward facing quillon and recurved ' Yataghan ' style blade. Stamped to the ricasso with a crown. Housed in a steel scabbard. Measures approx 70cm.
