A George III oak cased eight-day longcase clock, indistinctly signed Leicester, the hood with a twin swan neck pediment over a pair of freestanding fluted columns flanking the painted break arch dial, with an oval cartouche depicting Britannia above the 33cm dial applied with Arabic numerals, centred with a subsidiary second dial and date aperture, signed with the makers name and enclosing the four pillar two train movement striking on a saucer bell, the case with a dentil frieze above a shaped and crossbanded door inlaid with a central conch shell and flanked by conforming quarter pilasters, above the lower board similarly inlaid and embraced by canted corners, upon a plinth base with integral bracket feet, 230cm high, two weights and pendulum, glass measurement 45cm H x 33cm W
