In Roma Nella Calcografia di Agapito Franzetti a Torsanguigna, n.d. (end18th–beginning 19thCentury)
Collection of copperplate engraved title page and of 80 numbered plates (collated and complete), each composed of four views representing ancient ruins and modern buildings, with squares, churches, palaces and villas. All plates are signed by the respective engravers (Jean-Jerome Baugean; Antonio Giuseppe Barbazza; Giovanni Battista Cipriani; Francesco Morelli; Antonio Poretta e Domenico Pronti) and some related to the famous work of Giuseppe Vasi, “Delle Magnificenze di Roma Antica e Moderna” (1747-1761).
Agapito Franzetti, a chalcographer active in Rome with a workshop a Torsanguigna (from 1812 at No 180 Via del Corso, Roma), is known for his small view engravings that often served as business cards, containing a line at the bottom, where a name could be written in ink. Later (ca.1820) he published another collection of views titled “Raccolta di N. 60 Vedute o Antiche, e Moderne della Citta di Roma e sue vicinanze con la giunta delle Sale appartementi al Museo Pio Clementino.”
