No 605 Sqn RAF Collection. A range of items attributed to Flt Lieut James Addison of No 605 Sqn, which arrived too late to defend Singapore but fought on in Sumatra and Java, where Addison was taken POW by the Japanese. Items include 2 photos near Palembang, 3 hand drawn POW cards to him, odd letter etc.
With rare Japanese POW pocket diary, approx 60 pages complete in pencil from 2nd October to 27 November (year not indicated), mentions weather, injuries, food, punishments etc. Keeping a diary was punishable by death by the Japanese so a rare item. (R)
