A wonderful, alphabetically arranged study of British birds by renowned ornithologist David Bannerman, the Curator of the British Museum of Natural History from 1919 to 1952. Bannerman provides species identification, distribution, migration, and breeding behaviours of each species discussed. For this work, artist George E. Lodge painted three-hundred and seventy-seven images depicting four-hundred and thirty-five species.
