Moses Harris - 2 engravings of Horse and Crane flies 1776.
These original hand-coloured copper-plate engravings of Horse flies - Tabani and Crane flies - Tipulae are from An Exposition of English Insects by Moses Harris. Printed for the author by Messrs Robson & Co London 1776.
The prints are based on illustrations by the British entomologist and engraver Moses Harris (1730-1788) and feature insects including flies, bees, dragonflies and moths accurately drawn and highly finished in colours from nature.
Size: 9in x 11in (23cm x 28cm).
The prints are in excellent condition - please inspect the image carefully for any age related marks
