AN 1827 PATTERN VICTORIAN VOLUNTEER RIFLE OFFICER'S SWORD AND SCABBARD. With an 82.5cm slightly curved, pointed, fullered blade decorated with 'Volunteer Rifles' and a slung bugle amongst scrolling decoration with Crown and 'VR' to the other side. Marked to the ricasso 'Pilley & Co. 9 Aldermabury City' With steel guard with similar slung bugle, wire bound shagreen grip, and domed pommel. In steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 100cm overall *Condition: Good condition with polished surfaces.
