A scarce 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol by D. Egg, made for the Prince of Bouillon in 1796, 12” overall, barrel 7” engraved “D- Egg -London” and with Tower private proofs; slightly rounded lock with swan neck cock, engraved with crowned “GR” and “D Egg”; fullstocked with brass mounts. Good Working Order and Condition (originally fitted with a fore sight, now missing, the stock slightly sprung away from the barrel). Note: two hundred pairs of these pistols were made by Durs Egg and Henry Nock. Plate 8
