SIR THOMAS LAWRENCE, PRA (1769-1830). Attributed to. PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, IDENTIFIED AS COLONEL WILDMAN HUNTER; and PORTRAIT OF A LADY, IDENTIFIED AS MRS NANCY BRAIN. Two, he seated three quarter length, wearing a blue coat (possibly retouched) with white facings and waistcoat, buff breeches; she seated half length, wearing a white dress and veil, holding a tambourine, pastels, mounted oval Each 30 x 24.5cm. (2) Provenance: By descent in the family of the sitters, most recently Eric Lamb and thence to his daughter, Doris, later Lady Mountain (b.1906). The sitters' identities are derived from later inscribed labels on the backpaper of each picture.
