A FIRST WORLD WAR TRIO TO THE LANCASHIRE FUSIIERS. A Great War Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 3421 Pte J. Whalley Lan Fus War Medal and Victory Medals similarly named. John Whalley served with the 9th (Service) Battalion of the Lancashire Fusiliers. He enlisted on the 19th September 1914 and entered the Balkans on the 11th July 1915, he suffered a shrapnel wound to the right thigh on the 21st August 1915, at this time he was serving in Gallipoli and was 19 years old. He was discharged on the 5th October 1917 being issued Silver War Badge 262366. *CR Light surface marks. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
