An original oil painting on canvas entitled “Merlin Thunder” by the well known aviation artist Gerald Coulson GAvA, depicting an Avro Lancaster of Bomber Command flying low over occupied Europe at speed “thanks to the Merlin engines”, in its gilt frame, 46” x 26” overall, GC. Gerald Coulson had been painting professionally for over 47 years and has a reputation second to none. Since 1969 his work on many different subjects has been published as both open and limited edition prints. He was in the Fine Ants Trade Guild top ten best selling artists 15 times, three times at number one. A Vice President and founder member of the Guild of Aviation Artists he died earlier this year.. £7000-7500
