Do/SHIP Do": 26 April 1845 E (reinforced inner fold) from Mauritius "overland [...] via Ceylon" to Bordeaux with "PURIFIE AU LAZARET/MALTA" hs (fine; disinfected in Malta), very fine "OVERLAND." intaglio (Proud, I1, p.262) on the front and fine rare "MAURITIUS./STR.POSTAGE PAID/INLD. Do/SHIP Do" hs (A5, p.253), "MAURITIUS/POST OFFICE" & Alexandria cds's. Both this intaglio mark & the special 'paid' hs are only recorded for 1845/6 by Proud.
