The rectangular panel painted with Shou-Lao dressed in a voluminous robe decorated with shou medallions, peaches and plum blossoms, the deity holding a gnarled staff in his left hand while clutching a peach in the right with a pair of bats flying overhead, his young attendant standing to his right holding a basket filled with peaches and Lingzhi mushrooms, the spotted deer painted to the front of the group looking up at the deity and his attendant, his back beneath a large peony bloom, age wear, restoration, contemporary backing, overpainting in areas
