Pair of very beautiful miniature georgian-style portraits. Measuring 15cm x 13 cm. Well framed. Both signed 'Rappy' and 'Lius' respectively. Portrait miniatures were used as diplomatic gifts; tokens of love or mementos of births or deaths. In the 18th century miniatures were painted on ivory and enamel, of which these portraits recall, giving the paint a soft, polished lustre.
